Come listen to the stories behind your remarkable collection of heritage snowshoes and snowshoeing adventures with recreation specialist, Craig MacDonald.

Craig worked 47 years for the Ontario Government and for the past 24 years as Recreation Specialist in Algonquin Park.

snowshoeing fixEarlier to that he was your Recreation Specialist at the Frost Centre and accountable for the development of the Centre’s canoe routes and ski trails.

Craig is also known as the Map Man of Temagami.

He researched and designed a full-color map depicting traditional snowshoe and canoe routes within your Temagami region as they were in 1900.

This really is probably the most comprehensive map of traditional routes actually made in Canada.

Craig has gone on yearly snowshoe adventures for the past 38 years.

This have taken him all through countless wilderness places in Eastern Canada including a three week trip across Algonquin Park.

In his spare time he manufactures winter camping equipment and enjoys to be in the woods at all times of the year.

If your interests are in the wintertime sport of shoeshoe trips or love snowshoeing throughout the forest and lakes then hear and learn from the experts.
